Perfectionism may be an essential trait in a neuro surgeon, but do you need to be perfect to get the overall result you want? You’re starting a business and it’s going to be a lot of work. You want to get it right, but let’s be frank, is it necessary to take pains over every little thing? A good way of avoiding this habit is to delegate, even if this means paying someone. Your time is worth more than the niggly little things you’ve tied yourself up with, they won’t pay your salary and you know it too, don’t you?
Let go a little bit, make room for the top priority of gaining business to make money. As you approach potential clients they will understand you are a new business. They will want to get what they pay for and usually a bit extra, but it really doesn’t matter if they get it while something minor is yet to be addressed, as long as they are not affected. Chill out a bit and remember your reason for starting the business in the first place.
The ‘just don’t care’ people reading this, you surprise me! You do care about something, but just not how it’s working out in your business at the moment? Is it all of it? I can almost see your hands thrown in the air with the frustration of it for some of you.
Let’s stop and take a breather for a few minutes. Let’s look at what is really causing the frustration. You will tell me it’s this or that, but we both know we will find another reason, may be even two or three.
I successfully coach people to get them to their goals, but also to help them over the barriers or, the bumps in the road. Give up if that is what you truly want, but I can almost guarantee that you may have the same frustrations ready to bushwhack you again, so let’s get it sorted out.
